WWW? Yosemite … And Yoga for You!

It’s Wednesday, late in the day but getting the blog out cause that is what I do!

Last week’s Where Were We? Was at one of my top bucket list spots, Yosemite National Park. Such a beautiful location, we were there in May so the crowds weren’t too bad and the weather was just right. We loved the hiking and the waterfalls. This photo was taken at Vernal Falls. This was a moderate hike, climbing up 600 steps, with waterfall views almost the entire time. As the photo zooms out you can see the entire falls and see that even in the early season there were still quite a few people at this popular spot. More on that in the book, which you can now grab at Third Place Books in Seward Park, such a great spot, sharing space with Chuck’s Hop Shop.

On to this week’s Yoga for You. While I am still learning my best set up for shooting videos in my house, it’s interesting to watch my own practice as I go through the editing. I am posting two videos because to get through the almost five minute sequence, I took five different videos and am sharing a combination of a few of them.

The first video moves through more the plank series, with Loki who adds an extra challenge to the mix. And the second video is mostly standing poses. Together it is about 5 minutes, but you could break it up if needed.

As an instructor, I try and give my students modifications or adjustments to allow them to get the most from the pose, watching myself, I noticed that I needed to lower my left hip in the second round of warrior three. I mention that so that if you do this on your own, you will know to keep your hips level.

Starting with a plank flow and then moving on to balancing poses, while there are no sit ups in this routine you will work your core, your legs, shoulders and all the little joints and muscles in your feet and ankles.

This is a site about me and for me. A place to put my thoughts down, and to express what I am thinking. Sometimes serious, sometimes fun, sometimes just trying to get a message out. Just a place for my voice or thoughts to be heard, even if just for myself.
