Saucha is the first Niyama – cleanliness and purity of the body and mind. This can be interpreted differently person to person, similar to the first five Yamas. It could simply mean showering before heading to yoga class, clearing your home of unwanted objects, or going on a 10 day silent retreat to clear your mind for a bit.
My goal is to clear a little clutter each day or week so I have more time to do things that I really enjoy. Sometimes my clean up looks like a car load to Goodwill, other times its a 10 minute meditation before I get out of bed in the morning.
This week it took me awhile to sit down to write. I worked on tiny art project (#inktober) which has been a really fun way to spend my time, I keep it short and don’t share it too much, its every day, so that’s a lot. Check it out, here or below the image – I just take a few moments of creativity each day and post it without worrying about the outcome.
